Our Church

The Jamestown Wesleyan Methodist Church.

The first chapel was built in 1873 and was located at the rear of the  current property. It was also used as a day school.

In 1878 the present church was opened by the Rev. Thos. Lloyd, President of the Wesleyan Conference.

By 1990 various Congregational Committees were formed, with the youth catered for with Sunday School, Christian Endeavour, and a Thursday night Bible Study.

The present Manse was purchased in 1918 in Aaron Street and the original Parsonage on South Terrace was sold.

In March 1970 the Jamestown Methodist Circuit and the Jamestown Presbyterian church joined to form the Jamestown United Parish. The former Presbyterian Church building was sold to the Lutheran Church and is still used as a place of worship.

With the advent of the formation in 1977 of the Jamestown Uniting Church the name was changed to the Uniting Church and we are now a member of the Goyder Ministry Area.
